The Dormition of the Mother of God monastery in Cherepish is on the very bank of the Iskar River. It has the preserved remnants of wall paintings from the 16 - 18th century and 19th century and a collection of icons remained since that time. The monastery was built during the reign of Tsar Ivan Shishman.
