Rituals "Rosober" and "Rosovarene"

Rituals "Rosober (en: Picking of Rose Blossom)" and "Rosovarene (en: Rose Distillery)" - the picking of rose blossom in Kazanlak area is like a fairy tale, even more so when nature and people were generous to Bulgaria's pink gold. This tale is retold every year when the Rose Festival begins, praising the hard work and traditions of the Bulgarians from this region, their cultural uniqueness and their belief in beauty. Rose pickers in folk costumes, groups for authentic folklore and dance groups ring through the field and welcome the guests of the holiday.

The Festival of the Rose cultural phenomenon, Kazanlak – The Rose Festival in Kazanlak is the first in Bulgaria and it has a 120-year tradition. In 1903, the citizens of Kazanlak organized the Rose Festival for the first time. It was dedicated not only to beauty and flowers, but also to charity. A special kiosk in the centre of the town welcomed guests and offered rose oil, rose water, gyul rakya, rose jam, essences, soaps and rose perfumes. Rich exhibitions of roses and flowers were organized, occasionally issued postcards with views of the Rose Valley were sold.

Temple Feast of Pavel Banya

Temple Feast of Pavel Banya (September 8 – Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary) – every year it is celebrated with various initiatives, including motorcycle rally, extreme riding and rock music, etc. The holiday always ends with a solemn Holy Liturgy and liturgical procession from the Nativity of the Virgin Mary Church to Osvobozhdenie Square.
