Did you know about Karlovo?

  • Did you know that there is a fountain in Karlovo that is older than the United States of America? The stone work was made in 1775 by an unknown craftsman. 

  • The year of the building is carved on the base. The iconic old fountain is located in the area between the Church of the Dormition of the Holy Mother and Bukalov Inn.

  • Did you know that there are 15 researched, described and published mountain cycling routes on the territory of Karlovo municipality?

Did you know about Panagyurishte?

  • Panagyurishte is the only town in Bulgaria that has a colony – the village of Panagyurski colonii, Municipality of Panagyurishte. For the first time, a children's camp (colony) was organized in the locality in 1907. Panagyurski Colonii was founded as a summer resort villa settlement in the early 1930s. Nearby there was a summer camp building of the Men's High School in Plovdiv, built in the 1920s.

  • The town was the centre of the April Uprising and was the capital of Bulgaria for 10 days.

Did you know about Sliven?

The town of the 100 voivodes, of the Blue Stones, of the winds, of the textiles, of the Sliven pearl rakya, of the Peach Valley, of the unforgettable Damian Damyanov. The poet who was born in Sliven, said about his hometown "... the town that brought together both old and new, cobblestones and asphalt, ancient verandah and today's multi-storey building,... not only brought together winds and rivers at the same time (hence its name), but also brought together past with present, today's joy with past sorrow".

Did you know about Kazanlak?

  • The first art gallery outside the capital was established in Kazanlak. It was formed back in 1901 by the artist Ivan Enchev – Vidyu.

  • Kazanlak is known as the town of "hundred artists." Dozens of iconic names in the history of Bulgarian art were born there, such as Petko Klisurov, Ivan Milev, Ivan Penkov, Dechko Uzunov and Nenko Balkanski.
