Did you know about Panagyurishte?

  • Panagyurishte is the only town in Bulgaria that has a colony – the village of Panagyurski colonii, Municipality of Panagyurishte. For the first time, a children's camp (colony) was organized in the locality in 1907. Panagyurski Colonii was founded as a summer resort villa settlement in the early 1930s. Nearby there was a summer camp building of the Men's High School in Plovdiv, built in the 1920s.

  • The town was the centre of the April Uprising and was the capital of Bulgaria for 10 days.
