Natural sightseeings near Kaloyanovo

Kaloyanovo is astonishing in the early summer with the fragrant and picturesque pink plants near the villages of Begovo, Ivan Vazovo, Otets Paisievo and Sukhozem. And the small wineries offer you a taste of “the sacred drink that connects people with the gods,” according to Thracian legends.

Parks near Dimitrovgrad

Near Dimitrovgrad, one of the greenest places in Bulgaria, there are three huge parks:
Nikola Vaptsarov – covering 821 decares with a forest of black pine, red American oak, white spruce, white fir, various flowering shrubs, etc.

Maritsa – a magnificent terrace on the bank of the river with an area of 1400 decares, with a sports complex, stages, athletics track. Also the Alley of the Giants is located there: the big benches, the big table and chair.

The Pobitia Kamak natural landmark

The Pobitia Kamak natural landmark is located on the territory of the village of Sarnitsa, the municipality of Mineralni Bani, and it covers an area of 1 hectar. It is a complex of interesting rock formations. The prehistoric fortress from Thracians times “Golamoto Gradishte” is located 1.5 km north of the village of Gorno Bryastovo, Municipality of Mineralni Bani, and it was built of large rubble stones without mortar. It is elliptical, and its walls, 2.5 m thick on average, are in a state of collapse.

The Orlova Skala natural landmark

The Orlova Skala natural landmark is located in the land of the village of Sarnitsa, the municipality of Mineralni Bani. The natural landmark has an area of 1.5 hectares. It is a complex of interesting and majestic rocks, some of which reach 30-40 m in height. It is a rock phenomenon resembling a medieval castle with sturdy towers. There was an old Thracian settlement here, and the remains of a fortress from the Neolithic Age can still be seen today. Trapezoidal cult niches are carved into many of the rocks.

Boraka Reserve

The well-kept Boraka reserve is located in the land of the village of Sarnitsa, the municipality of Mineralni Bani. The reserve has an area of 14.78 hectares. It has been declared a reserve for the protection of an ancient, natural, self-reproducing black pine forest. The average age of the trees is between 120 and 150 years.

Aida Protected Area

It is located in the area of the village of Spahievo, the municipality of Mineralni Bani. The protected area is 3.5 hectares. The subject of protection is the remarkable landscape and the habitats of rare and vulnerable plant and animal species.
