Ivan Vazov House-Museum with its adjacent sites – Ivan Vazov was born in the town of Sopot in the old house of his family, built in the 18th century by his great-grandfather. It was burned down in July 1877 during the Russian-Turkish Liberation War. In 1920, on the eve of the jubilee celebrations in honour of the 70th anniversary of the poet's birth and 50th anniversary of his literary activity, the idea of restoring his native home arose. The house was restored according to the memories of the family. In 1964, it was declared a cultural monument of national importance.
On June 6, 1935, the house was inaugurated as a museum, and in 1964 it was declared a cultural monument of national importance.
