Ahinora Museum

Ahinora Museum – the newest branch of the Art Gallery. The museum is the only one in the country dedicated entirely to one painting. It not only preserves one of the most valuable works of Bulgarian art in appropriate conditions, but also presents to the public an enriched story about the famous artist Ivan Milev and reveals facts, a large part of which were completely unknown even to researchers  until that moment.

Art Gallery – Kazanlak

Apart from the magic of the Damask rose and the richness of the Thracian heritage, Kazanlak is also famous as a town of artists, many of whom mark the highest peaks of fine art. Founded in 1901, Art Gallery – Kazanlak owns a valuable collection of paintings, graphics and sculptures by famous Bulgarian artists, collections of icons, prints, ex libris works and decorative and applied arts.

ISKRA History Museum, town of Kazanlak

Founded in 1901, the Iskra History Museum is among the oldest, richest and most famous museums in Bulgaria. It houses over 70,000 original exhibits reflecting the rich material and spiritual culture of the Kazanlak region. The museum preserves, researches and promotes the entire historical heritage of the Kazanlak region, including all Thracian tombs from the Valley of the Thracian Rulers.

Shipka-Buzludzha National Park Museum

Shipka-Buzludzha National Park Museum is a unique historical and architectural reserve that combines in a distinctive way the beautiful mountain scenery and historical monuments related to important events in Bulgarian history. On its territory is located the architectural monument Buzludzha, which in 2018 was recognized by the largest European organization "Europa Nostra" as one of the 7 endangered, significant cultural sites of Europe. Its unique architecture, resembling a huge plate, attracts lovers of extreme tourism from all over the world.

Rose Museum

It is no coincidence that Kazanlak is home to the only Rose Museum of its kind. The first museum exhibition about the Kazanlak rose was opened in 1967, and in 1969 it grew into a museum that is unique on a global basis. In June 2016, the new museum in the Rosarium Park was opened. The unique wealth of Kazanlak and Bulgaria is presented in an attractive modern building through more than 900 exhibits. The exhibition presents a rich collection of objects, photographs and documents revealing the rose production history in Bulgaria.

Sights in Koprivshtitsa

Picturesque, winding streets among houses from the National Revival period, lavishly coloured in blue, yellow and red. Beautiful arched stone bridges passing over numerous mountain streams and majestic scenery only add to the charm of the picturesque town.

The museums of: Lyuben and Petko Karavelovi, Dimcho Debelyanov, Todor Kableshkov, Georgi Benkovski, the ethnographic museums Lyutova and Oslekova house, the Old School, the Bridge of the First Gun, the majestic monument of Georgi Benkovski.

Asara Fortress

Asara Fortress near Nikolaevo has all the necessary qualities to become a full-fledged tourist destination, displaying authentic architectural remains from the Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages. The combination of well-preserved diverse fortification remains and the natural features of the area with its picturesque views provides excellent prerequisites for the development of various forms of tourism.

Elenska Basilica (Pirdop)

According to historical and archaeological data, the oldest monument of national importance in the Municipality of Pirdop are the ruins of the early Christian fortified church in the Elensko area, dating back to the end of the 5th – the first half of the 6th century. The site is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The temple is located about 3.5 km northeast of the town of Pirdop. The locality and the river that flows through it are called Elensko and Elenska River, and the ruins of the basilica Elenski monastery or St. Iliya monastery.

Ivan Vazov House-Museum

Ivan Vazov House-Museum with its adjacent sites – Ivan Vazov was born in the town of Sopot in the old house of his family, built in the 18th century by his great-grandfather. It was burned down in July 1877 during the Russian-Turkish Liberation War. In 1920, on the eve of the jubilee celebrations in honour of the 70th anniversary of the poet's birth and 50th anniversary of his literary activity, the idea of restoring his native home arose. The house was restored according to the memories of the family. In 1964, it was declared a cultural monument of national importance.

The bath in the village of Yagoda

The bath in the village of Yagoda – On the site of the mineral bath, there were once large Roman baths, and statues and ancient objects were found. In the middle of the 19th century, the local resident Stoencho Gruelou organized the construction of a bathhouse for the hygienic needs of the local population. The water in the area springs at a temperature of 54 degrees Celsius, but the high content of fluorine and arsenic makes it unsuitable for drinking. However, this is the reason why it is among the most beneficial in all of Europe in terms of healing properties.

The Roman Baths of the Ancient town of Diocletianopolis

The Roman Baths of the Ancient town of Diocletianopolis (Municipality of Hisarya) – the pearl of the archaeological reserve and the newest attraction in Hisarya. The Roman town of Diocletianopolis (now Hisarya), founded by Emperor Diocletian in 293 AD, was the third largest town in the province of Thrace after Philippopolis (Plovdiv) and Beroe (Stara Zagora). The rich thermo-mineral deposit near the nowadays town of Hisarya has defined the healing and restorative nature of Diocletianopolis since ancient times.

Hristo Botev National Museum, town of Kalofer

Hristo Botev National Museum, town of Kalofer – it was built on the place where the last house of the Botev family was located. The museum complex is located in the "Botev Garden" park, created in 1926 and includes the following sites – a memorial house-museum, an exhibition hall, the monument to Botev from 1930 and the monument to Ivanka Boteva – the poet's mother. It stores, protects and exhibits personal belongings, documents, publications, works of Bulgarian art, etc. materials related to the life and work of Hristo Botev, his family and his associates.

Karlovo History Museum – The Karlovo

The Karlovo History Museum is located in the building of the former Fifth Grade Boys' School, built in 1871. It is situated next to Vasil Levski Square, opposite the St. Nikolay Church in the Old Karlovo Historical Area, a group monument of architecture and urbanism from the period of the National Revival, in the historical central part of the town. Here are some of the most valuable single cultural monuments, most of the rich green Karlovo revival courtyards, many ancient fountains and wells.

Vasil Levski National Museum

Vasil Levski National Museum, Monument of Vasil Levski – it provides you with an opportunity to get plenty of information about the home and family, the stored belongings, letters and program documents of the Apostle; to touch the little  memories and relics that time has left, to access the spiritual peace and the great work of Vasil Levski. To try to penetrate the extraordinary mystery: how a giant of the Bulgarian liberation was born on Bulgarian soil, from a Bulgarian mother, and by what strange paths fate led him to the highest peaks of human history.

The Apriltsi National Memorial Complex

It was built on the occasion of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the April Uprising in 1976. Its creators were the sculptors Sekul Krumov, Velichko Minekov and Dimitar Daskalov, as well as the architects Ivan Nikolov and Bogdan Tomalevski. The memorial was built on the historic hill of Manyovo Bardo in the centre above the town where on April 30, 1876 the bloody battles during the uprising took place. The site is one of the emblematic places for celebrating the anniversaries of the April Uprising.

Rayna Knyaginya House-Museum

One of the most visited places in Panagyurishte is Rayna Knyaginya House-Museum – the house-museum of Rayna Futekova – the head teacher of the girls' school, who was only 20 years old when she sewed the main flag of the insurgents. April 22, 1876 – the day of its consecration, at the request of the citizens, she led the solemn procession, mounted on a chosen horse, girded with a saber and a revolver.

History Museum – Panagyurishte

History Museum – Panagyurishte is proud of one of the great museums in Bulgaria, which has preserved our ancestral memory and our pride as worthy heirs. You will have the opportunity to see both cultural and historical monuments of high value, as well as valuable collections of books, masterpieces of the Bulgarian Revival architecture, visual, plastic and applied arts. All of this is related to the centuries-old past of our region, which has left a bright imprint on the modern identity of every resident of Panagyurishte, as well as every Bulgarian.

The Memory of Ages Exposition

The exposition was opened on October 10, 2013 on the occasion of 135 years of museum work and 100 years since the founding of the Sliven History Museum. It includes original monuments from the museum's fund, some of which are of worldwide relevance and related to the life of the population of the region of Sliven from the Neolithic to the Second Bulgarian State inclusive.

The World of the Thracians – a cultural and historical complex

The Valley of the Thracian Rulers, located on the territory of the municipality of Kazanlak, is the area with the most remarkable evidence of the uniqueness of the Thracian culture.

Material traces of millennial human presence here date back to the Neolithic. Numerous settlements, necropolises, cult places and fortresses from Antiquity and the Middle Ages have been documented, which makes it one of the richest archaeological monuments in Bulgaria.

Golyama Arsenalka

A tomb dating back to the end of the 5th century BC was discovered in the Golyama Arsenalka mound. It has an impressive facade, a rectangular vestibule and a domed chamber. The entrances to the premises are with double-winged stone doors. Opposite the entrance to the chamber there is a bed oriented east-west.
