The girls' (Radino) school was built in 1851. It is one of the first girls' schools in Bulgaria. It was burned in 1877 during the Russian-Turkish war, and was rebuilt in 1879. The upper floor was used as a school, and the lower – as a theatre hall for the Community Center.
The girls' school, as well as many other places in Sopot, is mentioned in the novel "Under the Yoke" by the Patriarch of Bulgarian literature Ivan Vazov. “Radino (Rada’s)” comes from the name of Rada Gospozhina – one of the main characters in the book, who was a teacher in the town. An unforgettable moment of the narrative is the chapter "Rada’s Trials," in which the annual exam of the graduates of the young teacher is followed.
