The ruins of the Krasen fortress – 6 km south of Panagyurishte. Research shows that during the Early Byzantine and Middle Ages, Krasen was one of the most important settlements in the region. The revealed fortification system with a double fortification line and numerous towers, the dense residential development, the extensive suburbs outside the fortress are evidence of this. Two churches and several necropolises were explored. Information about the town's infrastructure is provided by the large water storage basin and the channel openings in the fortress walls for the outflow of atmospheric water. Before the building of the fortress, traces of habitation from the Stone-Copper and Early Iron Ages were found on the hill.
