Razgrad is the heart of the Ludogorie region – a Bulgarian area that is characterised by ancient history and specific cultural traditions and peculiarities. The vast rolling plain in the northeast of the country is called Ludogorie (mad forest) due to the presence of centuries-old forests that make up about 25% of the region's total area.
The Abritus Archaeological Reserve best demonstrates the historical heritage of Razgrad. It presents to its visitors the remains of Roman, Thracian and medieval Bulgarian monuments. In addition to the ruins, the reserve features a modern interactive museum that offers various immersive historical experiences. Another of the town's landmarks is the Clock Tower with arched cornices and domed roof, built in 1864. The attention of tourists is also captured by the St. Nicholas the Wonderworker Temple, the Momina Cheshma fountain and the Ethnographic Museum.
