Heraclea Sintika is an ancient city in present-day South-West Bulgaria, the ruins of which are located in the land of Rupite village, Petrich municipality, on the southern slope of the Kozhuh Volcanic Hill. In ancient times, the city was the centre of the Sintika region, inhabited by the Thracian tribe Sinti.
