The authentic atmosphere of the area is captivating – the urban folklore of fishermen with guitars is still carried here, the boats return to the ports with good catches, and the preparation of the fish is a special ritual to which more than one or two festivals are dedicated. Here you will be enchanted by the country's unique customs such as the Nestinar dances (dance barefoot on the coals), the White Kuker, the Palikosh and many others. The villagers can't wait to celebrate their holidays and welcome guests at “panagyri”, and the scenery is breathtaking. Here you can choose between marine, cultural-religious, rural, eco, adventure, fishing, festival or mystic tourism – the palette of possibilities is rich, and you will not be disappointed. And while you're doing all this, the good air, the sea and Strandzha will take care of you. One of the most significant features in this region is the presence of “megalithic culture.” Stone tombs from the time of the Thracians are scattered all over the mountains. The excavated burial structures in the locality of Mishkova Niva and Voditsata near Malko Tarnovo, the Tumbite, south of Zvezdets, are an example of the preserved megalithic character of this type of structures until the third century AD. The dolmen complexes near Zabernovo and Evrenozovo continue to exist today as “cities of the dead” in the Hellenistic and Roman eras.
