Vitosha Nature Park is the first park in Bulgaria and on the Balkan Peninsula and due to its proximity to Sofia and Pernik it is the most visited protected area in the country. The most valuable assemblages and ecosystems are protected with the status of reserves and have restricted access, but even beyond them, the park offers incredible natural phenomena, panoramic views and preserved landscapes — the Vitosha summit Cherni Vrah, the stone rivers in the Golden Bridges, the Boyana Waterfall, the Golyam Kupen and Kamen Del peaks are just a small part of the landmarks in the mountain that attract tourists and mountaineers every day.
