On the 3rd of June, old style, in the Strandzha village of Bulgare, the feast of St. Constantine and St. Helena is celebrated. Since 2009, the ritual, in which nestinaris dance barefoot on the embers, has been included in the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage. It is a preserved centuries-old tradition and is unique to our country. It has pagan elements, but the essence of the ritual is respect for the saints Constantine and Helena.
